Tom Burton

Youngster Tom Burton can play across the back-three and joined the Chiefs Senior Academy at age 18 in summer 2023 in pursuit of his dream of playing for the Chiefs in the Gallagher Premiership.

Born in the United Arab Emirates, the back was originally more interested in football as a child but when friends and parents raved about rugby, he was persuaded to get involved.

Burton spent the chunk of the early stages of his rugby journey with Dubai Tigers before moving to England.

Developing on UK soil through the Newcastle Falcons junior academy, Burton was spotted by the England age-grades set-up who brought him in to represent the country at U18s level.

The young back will be looking to make the most of his time in the Chiefs Academy set-up which has a proven track record of being a positive place for progression into the Chiefs’ first team environment.
