U-18s side to face Harlequins

Scrum-half Joe Snow returns to the Exeter Chiefs Under-18s line-up for their latest Academy Under-18s fixture against Harlequins at Flowerpots Playing Fields this Saturday (1pm).

Snow has missed the last two fixtures as he has been part of the Chiefs first team squad for their Anglo-Welsh Cup encounters with Wasps and Bristol - coming off the bench in both games to help the Devon club seal their place in the last four of this season’s competition.

He returns to a Chiefs line-up looking to bounce back from last weekend’s 29-17 home defeat to Saracens, a result which marked a first reverse of the season for Rob Gibson’s side.

Standing in the way of the young Chiefs, however, will be a Harlequins side who have yet to taste defeat in this season’s competition and top the table after five games.

“It’s going to be another big test for the lads,” said Gibson. “Harlequins have shown themselves to be a very strong outfit this season, so we know we will have to be at our very best if we want to get anything from the game.

“Obviously there are lessons to be learned from last week’s performance, but you only get better as players and as a team by addressing certain issues when they come along. The guys have trained well this week and we’ll look to build on the positives we have produced throughout the whole campaign so far.”
