Top tips for Chiefs v Leicester Tigers at Sandy Park
Our festive fixture against Leicester Tigers is sure to be incredible with a sold-out Sandy Park crowd and a pre-match Christmas market, so here are our top tips to help you enjoy the day cheering on the squad for this record-breaking event.
Our tips will help make the experience as enjoyable as possible for you – helping you to avoid the queues or any last-minute worry on missing any of the historic matchday.
Parking:
If you’re using one of the external car parks then please ensure you plan your journey and allow more time than normal as, with it being the last Saturday before Christmas, the traffic volume will be higher. There is still time to book parking, please click here for information on how to get to Sandy Park.
Arrive early:
We would recommend 1.5-2 hours before kick-off at 3pm. Enjoy your first ever Christmas Market on the Piazza, where you can sample and purchase last minute Christmas gifts for collection after the game. There will also be mulled wine and mince pies available.
You can also head to our bar and food areas to get your pre-match drinks and good ready for the main event.
Then get yourselves to your seats nice and early, ready for the build up to the game, with a live brass band playing Christmas tunes on the pitch beforehand.
Entrance to the ground:
Depending on where your tickets are for, we would recommend entering the ground through relevant entrances and utilising the bar and good areas within those locations to help minimise your waiting time around the stadium.
East stand – East gates (access via Old Rydon Lane) or North gates – all bar and food outlets in the East Stand
South stand – Powderham gates or South gates – Powderham and Woodbury bar and food outlets
West stand – South gates or North gates – Dartmouth and Woodbury bar and food outlets
North stand – North gates – North outlets and Undercroft bar
Post game:
Following the game, we would encourage you to stay and get players’ autographs and enjoy the post-match entertainment from DJ Danny in the Powderham Bar or our live band, Shrine, in the main supporters bar in the West Stand.
The longer you stay post-match, the better chance you have of avoiding the masses trying to leave all at once and it will be easier to get spaces on public transport, with buses running until 11pm.
