Tasker heads to Sandy Park for 2024/25 season
Full-back/wing Georgina Tasker has signed a contract to play for Exeter Chiefs next season.
Formerly of Loughborough Lightning, the 21-year-old is about to finish a degree in biological sciences and has decided to make the move to the South West.
Tasker said: “I am really excited to join Chiefs as they continue their journey in the Allianz PWR. They’ve built a really good reputation over the past few years. both on and off the pitch, so I am looking forward to being involved in that environment!”
Tasker made 51 appearances for Lightning, scoring 10 tries in the process. Born in Mansfield, she played for her home club before being invited to join Lightning’s Centre of Excellence. She also took on the club’s vice-captain role for 13 matches in the 2023/24 season.
Away from Loughborough University’s training facilities and Franklin’s Gardens for Allianz PWR match-days, she has also played for England U20s and sevens.
Head coach Susie Appleby said: “We are really pleased Georgina has chosen Exeter Chiefs for her next stage in her rugby journey. She has excelled for Loughborough in BUCS and also shown herself to be a potent attacking threat for Lightning in the PWR. Despite her age, she has already taken on leadership responsibility and that is massive considering the experienced players she has had around her. We are excited to see her develop further with us with the support of our passionate fans here at Sandy Park.”
