Slade to appear before disciplinary panel

Exeter Chiefs star Henry Slade will appear before an independent Disciplinary Committee today following his dismissal in Saturday’s Heineken Champions Cup clash with the Vodacom Bulls.

The England centre - who was marking his 200th appearance for the club at Loftus Versfeld - was sent off by French referee, Thomas Charabas, in the 54th minute of the match for tackling the Vodacom Bulls full back, Kurt-Lee Arendse (No 15), in a dangerous manner in contravention of Law 9.13.

Jennifer Donovan (Ireland), Chair, Frank Hadden (Scotland) and Yannick Jauzion (France) have been appointed as the independent Disciplinary Committee for the hearing which will take place by video conference

Law 9.13 A player must not tackle an opponent dangerously

Under World Rugby’s Sanctions for Foul Play, Law 9.13 relating to dangerous tackling carries the following sanction entry points - Low End: 2 weeks; Mid-range: 6 weeks; Top end: 10 to 52 weeks.
