Exeter Chiefs centre Henry Slade has today been called into the England training squad ahead of their upcoming Autumn Nations Test Series.

Slade was a notable omission from Eddie Jones’ original squad named last week, but following the withdrawal of Owen Farrell (concussion), Jonny May (elbow) and Henry Arundell (foot) following the weekend action in the Gallagher Premiership, he has travelled to Jersey along with club-mates Luke Cowan-Dickie, Jack Nowell and Sam Simmonds.

Tom Roebuck and Adam Radwan have also been called into the squad.

Farrell - who was replaced during Exeter’s clash with Saracens at Sandy Park - will progress through his graduated return to play protocols at home, while Arundell will travel to Jersey for rehab, along with Will Stuart who is recovering from a knee injury.

Charlie Atkinson, who is currently unattached, will join up with the England squad as a training player.

England will spend five days in Jersey as they continue their preparations for their four Autumn Nations Series fixtures at Twickenham Stadium.

They will first take on Argentina, with limited tickets still available, on Sunday 6 November (2.15pm KO).

They will then host Japan (Saturday 12 November, 3.15pm KO) followed by New Zealand (Saturday 19 November 5.30pm) and South Africa (Saturday 26 November, 5.30pm KO).
