Exeter Rugby Club Deputy Chief Executive Kieron Northcott led the tributes at Saturday's special Remembrance Service, which took place prior to the Gallagher Premiership Rugby clash between Exeter Chiefs and London Irish.

Northcott was joined on the pitch ahead of kick-off by Director of Rugby, Rob Baxter, the two teams and match officials, as well as Les Kiss and Bill Pulling (London Irish), Commander Steve Henaghen (representing HMS Defender), Lieutenant Colonel Edward Hall (Royal Marines CTC Lympstone), Lieutenant Colonel Crispin D'Apice (6th Batralion Rifles), Major Owen Mitchell (6th Battalion Rifles), Councillor Trish Oliver (Exeter City Council) and Maurice Hayes (Royal British Legion Standard Bearer).

Club chaplain Simon Atkinson once again oversaw the service, which included special mention to the 25 former Exeter Rugby Club players who were killed in battle during World Wars I and II.

The Last Post and Reveille were performed by Buglers Lance Corporal Aaron Hall and Corporal Matt Abbott of the Band of Her Majesty’s Royal Marines.
