The world of rugby lost one of its most beloved son's this week, as Doddie Weir lost his battle with Motor Neurone Disease, five years after diagnosis.

Doddie was a larger than life character, who brought humour & determination to his fight with this cruel disease, and through the formation of the My Name5 Doddie Foundation, raised millions of pounds in the search for a cure.

The Exeter Chiefs Match against Gloucester Rugby this Sunday in the Premiership Cup was always going to be used to support Doddie's Foundation, alongside the Exeter and East Devon Motor Neurone Disease Association and 4Ed, the charity set up in the wake of the diagnosis of Gloucester star Ed Slater.

In the wake of Doddie's passing, the game has gained greater significance and we would ask everyone to come along to Sandy Park, to dig deep into their pockets and donate to these fantastic charities who will be collecting money around the stadium this Sunday.  We will also be holding a minute's silence prior to kick off in his memory.

Tickets for this match are 2 for the price of 1, and we would love to see as many of you here as possible. Celebrating the life of one of the game's greats and continuing his legacy.

Rest easy big man.
