McGoverne extends second stint with Chiefs Women

Exeter Chiefs Women’s fly-half/centre Liv McGoverne has re-signed with the club to take her into the 2025/26 season.
This extends her second stint with the women’s team. McGoverne originally joined the club for the 2022/23 season but then returned home to New Zealand before bouncing back to the PWR in 2024.
Last season saw her become the league’s leader for most kicks in play with 128 amassing 4,150 metres, which was way ahead of second-placed Zoe Harrison whose numbers were 93 and 2,827 respectively.
She was also Chiefs leading points scorer with 55 from two tries and 45 off the tee and she started every game she was available for.
Assistant coach Steve Salvin: “We were delighted to welcome back Liv last season. Liv has shown her value at both 10 and 12 this season and has brought both attacking creativity and defensive physicality. Liv’s kicking game, both from hand and at goal, is constantly improving and her laid-back manner has a great influence on the group”
McGoverne said: “I have loved being back with Chiefs this season. It really feels like a home away from home for me here. Re-signing was an easy decision because I love playing alongside all the girls here and feel passionately about this club.
“I’m excited to play alongside world class players and continue to grow my game and achieve success here next season. I’m already looking forward to running out in front of our fans next season at Sandy Park.”
