The 2022/23 Allianz Premier 15s final will be held at Kingsholm, the home of Gloucester Rugby.
The top four teams in the competition will progress to semi-final play-offs, played at the home ground of the top two teams on the weekend of (10/11 June 2023), before the final in Gloucester on 24/25 June 2023 (kick-off to be confirmed).
Saracens and Harlequins have faced off in the final on four occasions with the North London side claiming more titles than any other team. Alex Austerberry’s Saracens earned their third title with victory over first-time finalists Exeter at Sixways last year.
Exeter Chiefs currently top the table after 11 rounds. With a 100% record, Gloucester-Hartpury sit second, having played a game less than Susie Appleby’s Chiefs. The West Country side will take on the current champions, Saracens, at Kingsholm this Saturday.
The Rugby Football Union (RFU) worked with the 10 current Allianz Premier 15s clubs to determine the best venue for hosting the 2022/23 final. Following a tender process between a shortlist of venues, Kingsholm came out on top for this season’s event.
Kingsholm has hosted several international matches, including the fixture between England and Wales in the 2022 TikTok Women’s Six Nations, with a 14,689-strong crowd as well as the recent men’s U20 Six Nations match between England and Italy earlier this month.
RFU Women’s Game Director Alex Teasdale said: “We are really looking forward to taking the Allianz Premier 15s final to Kingsholm. Gloucester Rugby did an excellent job of hosting a memorable final in 2021 despite restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic and we are pleased to be able to return for a fixture without these limitations. This will be a brilliant way to cap off another fine season before we hand over to Women’s Premier 15s LTD from 2023/24.”
