Exeter Chiefs prop Tomas Francis featured for 69 minutes as Wales returned to winning ways in the RBS Six Nations Championship with a 22-9 win over Ireland at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff.

Winger George North scored twice for the hosts, while replacement Jamie Roberts crashed over late on for their third try of the night. Full-back Leigh Halfpenny completed the job for Rob Howley's side, converting two of the three tries, as well as kicking a penalty.

In reply, Ireland - who will face England in their final match in Dublin next Saturday - countered with two successful penalties from fly-half Jonny Sexton and another from Paddy Jackson.

Wales, meanwhile, will wrap up their campaign with a trip to Paris next Saturday where the French lie in wait.
