Exeter's 'off-field heroes'

Exeter Chiefs star Jack Nowell teamed up with two of the club’s ‘off-field heroes’ to help mark start the inaugural Gallagher Premiership Rugby season at Twickenham.
Representing the Chiefs, Bob Crowe-Swords and Ryan Barnes stood shoulder-to-shoulder with the England and British Lions winger to help launch the new campaign entitled: This is The Way We Play.
During the 2018/19 season, Gallagher will focus on championing the people within the game that embody the values and spirit of rugby, both on and off the pitch.
With ages spanning from 14 years-old to the late 60s, and each with their own individual relationship to rugby, the ambassadors chosen were picked by their clubs in recognition of all that rugby stands for.
Bob is a member of Exeter Chiefs Supporters’ club, supporting the team from before they moved to Sandy Park, and is proud to attend every game, whether it is home, away or even Europe.
Meanwhile, Ryan enrolled in Exeter’s Hitz programme during his time away from education, whilst awaiting an opportunity to join the army. During his time at the club, he has developed a huge passion for the Exeter Chiefs and rugby in general, having joined a local club, consistently offering to volunteer at club events.
Throughout the season, Gallagher will embark on a series of charity initiatives as part of its ongoing commitment to rugby, working with Premiership Rugby to shine a light on the positive work that is being done around the game, both at scale and within the local communities.
