Dan Frost to Depart Exeter Chiefs at Conclusion of 2024/25 Season
Exeter Chiefs hooker Dan Frost has agreed a move to Bath for the 2025/26 season.
The front rower will re-join the Gallagher Premiership club with whom his career began in their Academy set-up. In three seasons as a Chief, Frost has so far made 48 appearances, scoring 17 tries in all competitions.
“I’d like to thank everyone at Exeter Chiefs for welcoming me in with open arms off the back of what happened to Wasps,” the hooker said.
“I feel extremely lucky to have represented such a special club. I will be taking away some incredible memories and friendships that will last a lifetime and I am grateful to have worked with some top coaches and some bloody good blokes.
“To the fans, I’d like to thank you for your continued support. Although this season has been a frustrating one for us all, there is still plenty of rugby to play and I am hoping we can end it on a high for you.”
The Taunton-born boy was no stranger to rugby in the South-West before his move to Wasps earned him his breakout chance. The hooker gained valuable rugby experience at Championship side Cornish Pirates before the former London club came calling ahead of the 2021/22 season.
When Wasps folded in October 2022, Chiefs Director of Rugby Rob Baxter clocked the emerging talent that Frost had become, moving to sign him to Sandy Park to add to his Chiefs pack.
The performances Frost put in while wearing a Chiefs shirt have caught the eye of his former Wasps coach Lee Blackett and the Bath coaching team and Baxter is happy to have helped to afford the hooker this new career opportunity.
“We’re pleased we could give Dan an opportunity to carry on in Premiership Rugby when things went wrong at Wasps, and he’s made the most of that. He’s been a good, important player within the squad over the last couple of seasons for us here at Exeter Chiefs. We wish him well in the future.”
The former England U18s front rower, who is a favourite amongst Chiefs fans for his energetic playing style, will remain with Chiefs until the end of the current season before moving to the Recreation Ground.
