A former Exeter Chiefs intern has used her experience working with the club's Women's side to secure herself a trip to this year's Women's Rugby World Cup in New Zealand.
Stacey Maskelyne will be part of Canada Rugby's analysis team for the tournament, which kicks-off on October 8 when South Africa tackle France in Auckland.
Already Stacey has been part of Canada's pre-tournament preparations, working with the country at the Pacific Four Series, as well as recent warm-up friendlies against Italy and Wales.
She has also honed her analyst skills in recent months working in the BetFred Women's Super Rugby League.
As part of the analysis team at the Chiefs, Stacey helped to provide not only valuable pre and post-game statistics and coding of games, but also filming of weekly training and matches for Susie Appleby and her squad, who last season lifted the Allianz Cup, as well as finishing runners-up in the Allianz Premier 15s.
Gareth Elliott, Head Analyst for the Chiefs, said: "We're delighted to see the strides Stacey has made with her career, not just here at the club, but also further afield. A huge part of bringing in interns like her is that we are able to give them that valuable knowledge and insight that they can then use as a foundation to build their own careers.
"Seeing her working in the international environment with Canada is huge and underlines just how hard she was willing to work to achieve her ambitions."
Stacey herself was indebted to the Chiefs for the part they played in her development, adding: "I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Chiefs and learnt so much from the team and the coaches alike. Having that opportunity to try different roles during my time at the club has proved invaluable for me."
Exeter Chiefs will soon be releasing details in regards a work placement within the Analysis team.
