Chiefs Women look forward to home run in opening months of PWR season
Exeter Chiefs Women will play four home games in the opening six rounds of the 2024/25 Premiership Women’s Rugby season to settle back into the league routine.
Chiefs Women open their account with an away trip to Harlequins on Saturday, October 5 but return to Sandy Park for their first home game of the season against Leicester Tigers on Sunday, October 13 (KO 15:00).
Then it’s a quick trip up the road to reigning champions Gloucester-Hartpury on Saturday, October 19 (KO14:00) before heading back for three home games on the bounce:
- Trailfinders – Saturday, October 26 (KO 15:00)
- Saracens – Saturday, November 2 (KO 15:00)
- Loughborough Lightning – Sunday, November 10 (KO TBC)
Without the cup competition this year, the PWR league season is condensed into one block to accommodate England’s friendlies in September and the Six Nations in March and April before heading into the Women’s Rugby World Cup next summer.
Chiefs Women can also look forward to a Sandy Park festive fixture against Gloucester-Hartpury on the weekend of December 11/12.
They will greet the New Year with a game against Bristol Bears on January 11/12 at Sandy Park and will finish their regulation season against Tigers at the Mattioli Woods Welford Road.
The PWR semi-finals will be held on March 1/2 and the final on March 15/16.
Chiefs head coach Susie Appleby said: “This is an exciting season for women’s rugby and especially the PWR. We have recruited players who want to play in the best domestic league in the world to prepare themselves for the Rugby World Cup. We are more than happy to benefit from their expertise to help develop our younger players but to also make us as competitive as possible.
“Quins will be great opener for us, but I am also really excited for those home games. There is nothing like Sandy Park and I cannot wait for our new players to experience just how good it is to play on home turf.”
