Exeter Chiefs Under-18s will be looking to end their Premiership Rugby Under-18s League campaign on a high note when they play host to Bristol Bears at Truro College on Saturday (2pm).
In what has been a mixed campaign for the Chiefs, Marek Churcher’s side are boosted by the return of a number of players for this local derby.
Harry Hocking and Harry Wilkinson both return in the front-row, whilst Jake Bond is added to the back-row. Behind the scrum, the back division is unchanged from that which were defeated by high-flying London Irish in their last fixture.
Since that 47-19 reverse, the Chiefs youngsters have engaged in a number of training sessions together, including helping the club’s senior side to prepare for last weekend’s Premiership Rugby Cup semi-final against Harlequins at Sandy Park.
Looking ahead to the game, Head Coach Churcher said: “It’s our last game of the season, so we’re looking to go out on a high note. We’ve had some great training over the last few weeks, including helping the first team to prepare for their game. That has been invaluable to the players, as it has given them an insight into the standards that are demanded at the very top level.
“Having them in that environment, seeing and learning like they did, we could see immediately a real upturn in our own training and preparation for this game.
“Bristol, like all the other teams we’ve faced, will pose a real threat, so we will need to be on our toes from the outset.”
Kick-off for the game is at 2pm, car parking and refreshments will be available at Truro College.
