Exeter Chiefs Academy have named their U17s and U18s sides to take on Saracens age-grades this weekend at StoneX Stadium.

Exeter Chiefs U18s had their second league game of the campaign last Saturday against a buoyant Harlequins side. The game was a very tense and close encounter with Harlequins coming out winners 17-19.

The young Chiefs team fought hard throughout taking an early 3-0 lead after 11 minutes with a penalty from fly half Rory O'Kane. It was Quins who hit the lead with two converted tries in ten minutes to take the score to 3-14. Chiefs U18s finished the half stronger with a try from hooker Josh Addie converted by O'Kane making the half time score 10-14 with everything to play for in the second half.

It was Harlequins who started the stronger with an unconverted try however Chiefs again showed grit and resilience with a try from replacement prop Sam Vickery again converted by O'Kane. With time running out it was Chiefs piling on all the pressure but ran out of time giving Harlequins their second close victory in a week.

Chiefs go to the formidable Saracens who are two from two tomorrow (Saturday, January 18) with nothing to lose looking to put together a performance we know we are capable of.

Exeter Chiefs U17s, who also suffered defeat to the hands of Harlequins in their first outing of the season, go to Saracens on Saturday to take on the Londoners' younger side.
