Chiefs reveal new 2020/21 playing kits

Exeter Chiefs will have two stunning new looks to take them into the new 2020/21 season following today’s official kit launch.
After another hugely successful year for Rob Baxter's side - one in which they have reached their first-ever Heineken Champions Cup final, as well as a fifth successive Gallagher Premiership semi-final - the Chiefs have again teamed up with official kit suppliers Samurai Sportswear to reveal the brand-new away and Cup shirts for the upcoming campaign.
Entering into an tenth season of partnership with Samurai, the Chiefs have worked closely with the Norfolk-based company on producing something spectacular to take into their fixtures both in the Gallagher Premiership, Heineken Champions Cup and the Premiership Rugby Cup.
Outlining the new playing kits, the new away shirt has been completely stripped back to reveal something classic, pure and traditional. Featuring a sleek, sublimated, geometric-inspired design, it brings a modern take to design, enhancing body image with the use of layering, gradients and opacities.
Created by Samurai’s in-house graphics team, it was vital that the Cup kit kept in line with the traditions met by previous striking and unique Exeter designs. Using yellow as a base colour, fire was the main feature for the next print inspiration. This led to the designer using tribal influences as the design bases.
Together with the traditional all-black home strip, the kits are all part of Samurai's new Iconix 220S rugby shirts.
After three years of research, experimenting & evaluating feedback from customers, the Iconix product has an enhanced functional and performance profile as a result of new design features and technical gains.
The performance increase of the new Iconix 220S shirt derives from a harder-to-scrag collar, more specific compression zones for better muscular control and endurance, increased flat seam stitching and saddle sleeves for reduced drag, new under-arm panelling to prevent pinching, and increased breathability & wicking from the Kohino 4DX fabric and Performex moisture management system exclusive to Samurai. The Iconix 220S retains the industry-leading 800 Newton seam strength of its predecessor.
