Exeter Chiefs will have two stunning new looks to take them into the new 2018/19 season following today’s official kit launch at Exeter Quay.

After another hugely successful year for Rob Baxter's side - one in which they reached a third successive Premiership Final, as well as lifting the Anglo-Welsh Cup - the Chiefs have again teamed up with official kit suppliers Samurai Sportswear to reveal the brand-new away and Cup shirts for the upcoming campaign.

Entering into an ninth season of partnership with Samurai, the Chiefs worked closely with the Norfolk-based company on producing something spectacular to take into their fixtures both in the Gallagher Premiership European Champions Cup and the newly-named Premiership Rugby Cup.

Outlining the new playing kits, the new away shirt has been completely stripped back to reveal something classic, pure and traditional. Featuring a sleek, sublimated, constellation inspired design to the sides of the shirt, striking blue flames sculpt the bodies of the athletes while contrasting against a pure white base layer.

Created by Samurai’s in-house graphics team, it was vital that the Cup kit kept in line with the traditions met by previous striking and unique Exeter designs. Initially inspired by space and dispersion, it features shades of blue which defines the Chiefs’ confidence when on the pitch.

The glitched geometric design is keeping in line with the native American crest and honouring it’s tradition where shapes became a form of communication. The shirt reaps a futuristic impression interpreting the growth and insight that the Exeter Chiefs have acquired on their successful journey with more to come in their future years.

Throughout their existing partnership, Samurai Sportswear and the Chiefs have worked alongside one another to develop the very highest quality of match shirts. Exeter Chiefs will benefit from wearing Samurai’s ICONIX test match jersey constructed with an exclusive Kohino 4DX fabric, it works in sync with each individual athlete, allowing for movement instead of restricting it; whilst maintaining tensile strength.

The shirts other attributes include an integrated collar, GPS pouch, bicep sculpted sleeves, anti-pinch underarms and sculpted diverted side seam panelling, making it increasingly difficult for the opposition to pull down the Chiefs. This will accompany a full range of off-field kit, made from a functional range of PerformeXô fabrics, designed to ensure that the garments perform better and last longer

Exeter Chiefs Chairman and Chief Executive, Tony Rowe OBE, said: "As a club we are delighted to be continuing our excellent partnership with Samurai Sportswear heading into the new 2018/19 season. Since our promotion into the Premiership back in 2010, Samurai have been with us every step of the way, ensuring our team and our supporters not only look good, but deliver fully on and off the field

"Samurai are committed to partnering with us not only at home, but also further afield as we look build the Chiefs brand far and wide around the world. They not only understand our brand and our heritage, but have produced playing kits that not only incorporate those values, but ensure our team and our supporters look good when sporting our colours."

Samurai Sportswear Sales Director, Mike Pells, added: "As one of our key partners we have been working extensively alongside Exeter Chiefs to design and manufacture their on and off field team-wear for the season ahead with our in-house design team and at our own factory.

"We are delighted with the results and proud to be working in partnership with the reigning Premiership champions to ensure they take the field with the full support of the Samurai family through the season ahead."

The new Exeter Chiefs playing kits were officially unveiled this lunchtime with a special launch in the City Centre. All new playing kits are now available to purchase through the Trading Post, which is open Monday to Friday from 9:30am to 4:30pm.
