Bristol Bears Under-18s maintained their perfect record in this season’s Premiership Rugby Under-18s League by seeing off visiting Exeter Chiefs Under-18s at Shaftesbury Park.
A dominant first half from the league leaders saw them grab the bonus point by the break, after which they added two more scores in the second half.
Just three minutes had elapsed when the hosts took the lead through their skipper Aaron Tull.
Bristol doubled their lead just minutes later when James Randall was the next to cross, the hooker bagging the try which was converted by fly-half Sam Worsley.
It was hardly the start the Chiefs would have hoped for, but they were able to reduce the deficit midway through the first half when openside flanker Seth Findlay found his way over for their opening points of the game.
Sadly, the remainder of the half belonged to the Bears and by the turn they were 24-10 to the good, thanks to a brace of tries from Gabe Lacey, one of which was converted by Worsley.
In reply, the Chiefs claimed tries either side of the break, hooker Jack Ballett claiming their first, before prop Joe Thomson bagged a third, which was converted by Ben Coen.
Any hopes of an Exeter revival were soon doused as the Bears wrapped up their sixth win in as many starts with second half converted scores from Jimmy Halliwell and Tom Gardner.
