Exeter Chiefs back Jack Nowell has been named in a 27-man England training squad ahead of their latest RBS Six Nations encounter with Italy at the Stadio Olimpico.

Nowell, 22, claimed England's second try in their 15-9 victory over Scotland at Murrayfield on Saturday.

Club-mates Luke Cowan-Dickie and Sam Hill have not been summoned to England's training base at Pennyhill Park in Surrey on this occasion - and will instead remain in Devon to prepare for this weekend's Aviva Premiership trip to Sale Sharks.

Eddie Jones has, however, included Sale No.8 Josh Beaumont, Gloucester's Matt Kvesic, as well as Elliot Daly (Wasps) and Maro Itoje (Saracens), the latter two of whom were travelling reserves for the Scotland clash.

England travel to Rome to face Italy, who lost their opening game in Paris to France 23-21.
