Youngsters on the Exeter Chiefs HITZ programme have been helping to do their bit in the community in and around Sandy Park this week.

Led by Chiefs’ HITZ officer Gareth Williams, the team headed across the nearby Baker’s Bridge and into the Clyst Heath area, where they set about carrying out an extensive litter pick-up.

Keen to encourage working links with residents close to the stadium, the HITZ team have put in a number of shifts to clear the area from Sandy Park up to Digby & Sowton rail station.

Commenting, Gareth said: “I am really proud of the effort our team have made to clear up the route to Sandy Park. It’s not the most glamourous job to undertake, but we’ve taken a huge amount of satisfaction from what we’ve done.”

As well as the clear-up duties, HITZ youngsters have also been assisting the club’s community team with packing up the goodie bags handed out to the hundreds of children who attend our match-day Super Saturday programme.
