With 'School Out' for the week, Exeter Chiefs Community department have been hard at work honing the skills of youngsters from across the region with a number of half-term camps.
Developed and designed by our team of professional coaches using the most up to date techniques, the Chiefs camps offer young players aged between 6 and 16 the best possible experience and insight into the modern-day game.
Staged at both Sandy Park and Launceston's Rugby Polson Bridge ground, over 200 boys and girls took part in our latest camps, which also give an opportunity to experience what rugby life is all about at a top Aviva Premiership club.
During the day-long camps, the children learnt not only learn the basic elements of the game, but at the same time improved their skill set in a range of activities and match-like scenarios.
As always the key focus for the Chiefs’ Community team was on encouraging and inspiring young players to become the best they can be and to reach their full potential.
Community Delivery Manager, Andrew Dudley, said: "Again we've had two fantastic rugby camps here in Exeter and in Launceston. The numbers for Exeter, in particular, were a big increase on previous years and it further underlines the positivity surrounding the Chiefs.
"As a department it's great to see our coaches working with boys and girls of all ages, helping to work with them on the key fundamentals of the game.
"As always we try and piece together the whole day so that it is not only educational in terms of their rugby skills and awareness but, more importantly, that the activities are carried out with the emphasis on enjoyment."
Already bookings can be made for the next Chiefs Community camps, which will take place over the Easter break at a number of local venues.
