Gloucester clash is a sell-out
By Mark Stevens
For the second successive home game, Sandy Park will be have a full house in attendance after the final few tickets for tomorrow’s Exeter Chiefs versus Gloucester sold this morning.
As ever, the clash between the two Westcountry giants has proved popular with supporters from both clubs and a crowd of over 12,400 is expected to attend.
It means a bumper weekend for Exeter sport as tonight Exeter City also have a sell-out crowd for their FA Cup third round encounter with Premiership giants Liverpool.
Over 20,000 supporters are expected to watch the two games this weekend, a point not lost on Exeter Rugby Club chief executive, Tony Rowe OBE, who said: “It’s going to be a fantastic weekend of sport for the people of Exeter. This is probably the first time ever that both clubs have had capacity crowds, but what a great advertisement it will be for Exeter, Devon and the region as a whole.
“As a club we’re delighted that for a second successive game we have been able to put up the sold out signs. The crowd and the atmosphere here for Boxing Day was fantastic and I’m in no doubt it will be the same again tomorrow.”
