Campagnaro starts for Italy
Italy head coach Conor O’Shea has made one change to his starting line-up for Saturday's clash with the USA in San Jose.
O'Shea has kept faith with most of his match-day squad, including Exeter Chiefs centre Michele Campagnaro, who did duty in last weekend's 30-24 defeat to Argentina in Santa Fé.
The Irishman’s sole change comes in the forwards where Robert Barbieri replaces the injured Abraham Steyn on the blindside flank. Meanwhile, on the bench Maxime Mbandà takes over from Barbieri.
"Last week, the group offered what must be the point of reference in terms of work-rate and approach and the result could have been different," said O'Shea. "There is a lot of potential and the goal is to build a true Italian identity in everything we do.
"We definitely want to be a winning team and being effective in the details is what makes the difference at this level.
"In the choice of the team we have taken into account the limited time available for training because of the 30-hour trip from Argentina and we have not made changes to the training.
"I know it is not easy for the guys who have not yet found a place, but we have to concentrate on beating the United States."
