Two from two for England U-18s
Exeter Chiefs trio Josh Caulfield (pictured), Billy Keast and Jack Maunder helped England make it two from two in the Under-18 International Series after scoring five tries in a 33-8 win against South Africa A at Outeniqua Park.
Sixteen points from Saracens fly-half Max Malins – including a brace of tries – combined with scores from from Gabriel Ibitoye and Josh Bayliss to give John Fletcher's tourists a 26-3 advantage at half-time before replacement Theo Brophy added a further seven points soon after the break.
Malins’ first try came in the opening minute following an interception. A penalty then allowed South Africa to reduce the deficit before Ibitoye dived under the posts on 23 minutes.
Moments later, a scrum taken against the head saw England release the dangerous Sam Aspland-Robinson. He burst down field and set up Bath Rugby flanker Bayliss.
To compound the hosts' misery, a blindside attack from Zach Mercer then created Malins’ second. He duly converted his own try and England had an authoritative lead.
Momentum stayed with England early in the second half with Brophy Clews' seven-point score coming on 47 minutes before an interception pass allowed South Africa to claim their only try of the game.
