Exeter Chiefs head coach Rob Baxter has this morning confirmed that England international Henry Slade was assessed by medical staff last night on his return from the Aviva Premiership game away to Wasps.

Baxter said: "Henry has an injury to the lower part of his right leg and it is envisaged he will operated on sometime today (Sunday). At the moment we have set no timescale on how long he will be sidelined for. A more detailed assessment will be made following the operation."

This is the only comment the Chiefs will be making on the injury to Henry Slade.
