Exeter Chiefs back Jack Nowell was among the scorers as England moved back to the top of the RBs Six Nations Championship with a 25-13 victory over Scotland at Twickenham.

Stuart Lancaster’s side set up a three-way fight for the title with Wales and Ireland on the final weekend as they finally put away a dogged Scotland to retain the Calcutta Cup.

The Scots had led by three points at half-time as numerous home chances were tossed away, and they remained in touch until the final five minutes after England failed to convert further golden try-scoring opportunities.

Scotland rallied with a try from Mark Bennett and eight points from the boot of Greig Laidlaw, but it was not enough to end their 32-year wait for a win at the home of English rugby.

England’s advantage, however, is slender as they are locked on six points with Ireland and Wales, but have a points difference of +37 to Ireland's +33 and Wales' +12.

And with a misfiring France to play at home next Saturday, Ireland travelling to Scotland and Wales away in Italy, the title could yet go three different ways.
