Fans come first at Season Launch
Aviva and Premiership Rugby are throwing open the doors to the official 2015-16 Season Launch event tomorrow, giving rugby fans across the world unprecedented access to the annual curtain raiser.
For the first time fans will be able to experience first-hand the Aviva Premiership Rugby Season Launch, which takes place at the Twickenham Stoop on Thursday, October 8, enabling supporters to get closer to their heroes than ever before. Whether at work, at home or on the other side of the world, fans will be able to follow season launch via Periscope, as well as insight delivered through Snapchat and Twitter.
Aviva is also using its unique access to the players and coaches to offer 12 fans from around the country the opportunity to come to the Season Launch and interview their club's captain or Director of Rugby, take part in the press conference and get a look behind-the-scenes. Using Premiership Rugby's Twitter account, fans were given the opportunity to enter a competition for the chance to represent their club at the Season Launch by tweeting a question they'd like to ask their captain or DOR.
You can follow Premiership Rugby on Twitter via @PremRugby and Aviva through its @AvivaUK handle.
For those fans who aren't lucky enough to be at the Twickenham Stoop, Aviva will be streaming the press conference and interviews live on Periscope throughout the Season Launch, which runs from 9am-1pm. Premiership Rugby will also be using its Periscope account to help open up the event to as many fans as possible.
In another first for the Season Launch, fans can get exclusive behind-the-scenes images and video clips straight to their phones via Snapchat. To receive the Snapchats throughout the day, search for 'Premiership Rugby' and add the account in advance.
Lindsay Forster, Customer Marketing Director at Aviva UK, said: "We know rugby fans want to get closer to their Aviva Premiership Rugby heroes, especially with the eyes of the whole country focused on the sport at the moment and another exciting domestic season about to kick-off. For this year's Season Launch we are inviting fans from all 12 clubs to be our special guests at The Stoop and will be using the reach of digital channels to open up the event to fans around the world.”
Paul Morgan, Communications Director at Premiership Rugby added: "Innovation has been at the heart of our partnership with Aviva and tomorrow's event is another example of how we will embrace the new digital platforms on one of the most important days of our year.
