Youngsters from across the region made the most of ‘School’s Out’ by featuring in one of the many rugby camps laid on by the Exeter Chiefs Community department.

In a busy summer of activity, over 550 children from Cornwall, Devon and Somerset engaged in a wide range of sessions that not only allowed them to hone their skills, but at the same time improving their game understanding and making friends.

Developed and designed by the club's team of professional coaches, using the most up to date techniques, the camps offered the youngsters the best possible experience and insight into the modern-day game.

campersExeter Chiefs Community Development Manager, Marc Dibble, said: “This without doubt has been our best-ever summer for camps. It’s been fantastic to see all the youngsters getting involved and improving their skills through our camps.

“Also getting out into the wider community has been brilliant for our own exposure. Helping to spread the name of the Chiefs far and wide – particularly into Cornwall, North Devon and Somerset – has been really beneficial and I know we’ve probably picked up a few new supporters because of it.

“Already we’re looking forward to doing even more camps next summer, but before then we have another really busy year ahead of us working with schools, clubs and other organisations through our wide range of programmes and camps.”

As well as the various programmes on offer, the Chiefs will again be running their ever-popular ‘Super Saturday’ experience on match-day. This offers groups the chance to be trained by members of the club’s first-team, have a behind the scenes look at Sandy Park, before then watching the Chiefs in action.
