Exeter Chiefs have booked a European Challenge Cup quarter-final place for a second time - and now head coach Rob Baxter is targeting home advantage in the prestigious last eight.

They went down 22-17 at Stade Francais Paris in the 2012 campaign and are looking to go at least one better this time.

And after winning 33-24 against Connacht Rugby at The Sportsground, they now will wrap up Pool 2 matters at home to Bayonne in Round 6 with a home quarter-final the carrot.

"We have to go flat our next week in what is another big game for us in order to get a home quarter-final," said Baxter, who watched on as the Chiefs won courtesy of converted tries from Dean Mumm, Don Armand and a penalty try.

"We have been in the quarter-finals before but never at home and it would be a big moment for the club if we can do that - and it is also very important for us for a few reasons.

"We have been in good positions in the Premiership in the past and not seen it through but now we will have to have a big effort against Bayonne at the weekend.

829758-2"Coming into this game we talked about it being at Champions Cup level and it the end it was the momentum we got from the physical parts of our game that paid dividends.

"We had our best moments in attack when we were direct with our carries and everyone was aware we had had a tough run of results in the Premiership coming into this game and I think we recaptured some of the qualities that worked for us in the early part of the season.

"Our set piece became stronger through the game which always makes everything else easier for you and our defence improved through the game as well.

"We tried a different combination in our back line and sometimes we got caught a little bit narrow. That hurt us and we conceded some soft points."
