Exeter Chiefs duo Fetu'u Vainikolo and Elvis Taione enjoyed yet more Autumn international success as they helped Tonga to a 40-12 win over the United States of America on Saturday.

Having defeated Georgia the week previous, the Islanders were again on song as they produced a powerful second half display at Gloucester's Kingsholm Stadium to seal their win.

Winger Vainikolo claimed Tonga's opening try on the day, whilst there were further touchdowns for Viliame Ma'afu, Vunga Lilo, David Halaifonua and skipper Nili Latu. Fly-half Kurt Morath landed a further 13 points, alongside a late conversion from Latiume Fosita.

In reply, the Americans claimed first half tries through Tim Stanfill and John Quill, one of which was converted by Folau Niua.

Meanwhile, Taione was used as a second half replacement for Gloucester hooker Aleki Lutui.
