Aviva Premiership Rugby has made a stunning start to the new 2014/15 season with a record number of tries and a significant rise in attendances.
More than 170,000 fans have flowed through the turnstiles in the first two rounds of Aviva Premiership Rugby, a jump of 4.4% on the same time last season taking the average league attendance above 14,000.
The clubs have also been in fine try-scoring form, crossing the whitewash 67 times to set a new Premiership Rugby try record for the first two rounds.
"There's no doubt the season has started with a bang on and off the field," said Premiership Rugby's Commercial Director Dominic Hayes. "Attendances are up, the tries are flowing and we have recently confirmed three new commercial partners for Premiership Rugby - Citizen Watches, Trivento Wines and Ricoh."
The Chiefs opened up their Premiership season on Saturday against Leicester Tigers with a crowd of 9,721.

• Average Attendance - 14,217. Up from 13,620
• Tries scored - 67, which breaks the record of 66 scored in the first two rounds of 1998-99
