Stewards sought for 2014/15 season

Exeter Chiefs may have just brought the curtain down on another season of exciting Aviva Premiership and European rugby at Sandy Park, but already plans are being put in place for what is sure to be a fantastic 2014/15 season.

With Sandy Park currently undergoing a multi-million pound facelift and the pitch itself being ripped up in preparation for the new campaign, off the field the club are looking for volunteers to swell the ranks of their loyal and trusty band of stewards for next season, who would of course all be eligible for Rugby World Cup duty the year after.

Deputy Chief Executive Keiron Northcott said: "Our volunteer stewarding team continues to be the envy of all our Premiership competitors, and we believe we are the best in the Premiership and Europe. They are all interested in the game of rugby and ensuring that our spectators and visitors have a great day out, whilst always making sure they are kept safe’ Some of our stewards have retired or had to move on which makes a few new spaces available."

All stewards are provided not only with free training to achieve the NVQ Level 2 in spectator safety, but also a season ticket, and on match-days tea and coffee and a famous Sandy Park pasty.

Keiron continued: "There is of course a commitment required for stewarding which everyone does take very seriously, but all in all I think everyone enjoys the day and the camaraderie. Also the chance to be involved with the Rugby World Cup, we believe, is very appealing."
