Exeter Chiefs are ready to 'rip' this weekend's game away from London Irish and get back to winning ways, according to scrum-half Dave Lewis.

The 24-year-old is looking for the Chiefs to bounce-back against Irish after enduring five defeats in their last five games.

And, with home turf advantage this weekend, Lewis believes they have the perfect opportunity to pick up a victory.

Four points currently separate the Chiefs from their next opponents and head coach Rob Baxter has labelled the match a 'must win'.

However, while five consecutive defeats might worry most, Lewis is calm and thinks that the results don't reflect his team's performances.

"I think we are all looking forward to getting back to home ground and hopefully back to winning ways," he said. "I think we thrive on pressure from all of the one off games and all the big games and we are just really looking forward it.

"We've had a testing couple of weeks and I think we've all learned lessons from that and now we can put that right and hopefully the result will follow.

"Results have not gone our way recently and we want to put that right and we've got more home games than away games so we need to make that count. We've got a massive end of season and we want to push up that table now."

The Chiefs went down 23-10 to Saracens last time out and Lewis puts the defeat down to a mistake-ridden spell during the second half.

However, after working hard to identify their errors, the former Gloucester man is certain his side will have enough to overcome any Irish challenge.

"At the weekend we had a ten minute spell with a few errors and they capitalised," he said. "It just accumulates so if we can cut those out we will probably come out with a win at the end of the match.

"We've beaten these top sides so the belief is definitely there and we're going to do it this weekend. We know that there is no easy matches in the Premiership even when the score is one sided it's always a tough match it's never a breeze and it will be no different this weekend.

"They've got threats all over the field so we need to be on alert but at the same time we've got a pretty handy 15-23 players so I'm sure they'll be looking out for us as well."
