Gloucester Match-Day Plans

Fan Clap Lge

We all know match-days at Sandy Park are something special and this weekend’s is no different as Exeter Chiefs prepare to kick-off the defence of their LV= Cup crown at home to Premiership rivals Gloucester this Saturday (3pm).

Months on from that magical day against Northampton Saints, the Chiefs have again selected a powerful mix of youth and experience for the visit of the Cherry & Whites. And among those set to feature are skipper Dean Mumm and hooker Luke Cowan-Dickie, both of whom will be making their first starts alongside the likes of experienced stars such as Brett Sturgess, James Scaysbrook, Dave Lewis, Ceri Sweeney, Fetu'u Vainikolo and Tom James.

Youth also gets it's chance with roles in the starting line-up for the likes of Jerry Sexton, Sam Simmonds, Sam Skinner, Max Bodilly and Jack Arnott - all of whom will be lining up in front of stars from Exeter's past as the Rugby Club plays host to it's annual Past Players' Day in the Chiefs Suite.

PRE-MATCH

With LV= Cup action returning to Sandy Park for the first time this season, the stadium opens to the general public from 12pm, where upon supporters can make use of the many match-day bars and food outlets, which for this season also includes a new match-day carvery.

The two-course carvery, which can be booked in advance via the official Chiefs website, is priced at £16 per person and is available in the County Suite with sittings at 12pm, 1pm and 2pm. Walk-up diners are welcome on match-days, but be advised that if demand is high you run the risk of missing a particular sitting.

HALF TIME

Having been given the week off due to European regulations, our famous 'Derek The Otter' is back in action as he lines-up a string of contestants to not only test their kicking skills, but at the same time then win the chance to tackle the Otter Brewery mascot and win a case of beer.

Supporters will also get the chance to win some of the award-winning Darts Farm Cheese in our latest ‘Cheesy Tune’, which this week will be brought to you with the soundtrack of 'Timewarp' as voted by listeners of Radio Exe.
