Big Walk 2015
The Exeter Chiefs will be swapping their rugby boots for walking shoes next May, as they pledge to take part in popular fundraising event the Exeter Foundation Big Walk.
The 10-mile sponsored walk, which last year raised thousands for the Exeter Foundation, returns on May 2, 2015.
Sponsored by South West Communications, Northcott Beaton, Santander and Land Rover Experience, the Big Walk starts and finishes at recently reopened Sandy Park, and takes in a flat, scenic route through the River Exe Valley.
The Big Walk is open to anyone aged over 12, but there are also opportunities for mums, buggies and younger children to take part by walking around the Exeter Chiefs' hallowed turf at Sandy Park, although spaces are limited.
Following the Walk, participants can enjoy the inaugural European Champions Cup Final in Sandy Park’s Exeter Suite, with a complimentary pasty and pint.
Speaking about the event, Exeter Foundation Trustee Keiron Northcott said: “The Big Walk is a fantastic event; participants are able to travel through the beautiful River Exe Valley in a way they may not usually, plus enjoy the fantastic facilities at Sandy Park, while getting exercise and raising money for the Exeter Foundation.”
An early bird sign-up fee is on offer for individuals and teams who sign up before January 1st, 2015 – taking the price to £10 per person or £80 per team.
Anyone who wishes to sign up can do so by contacting [email protected] or by downloading the form on www.exeterfoundation.org.uk
