Toulon clash is a sell-out
Exeter Chiefs can confirm that their Heineken Cup encounter at home to Toulon is officially sold out.
Tickets for Exeter's game against the reigning champions - who will include England World Cup winner Jonny Wilkinson in their ranks - went on sale on Monday morning and were quickly snapped up by supporters who were keen to be part of the big match atmosphere on Saturday, December 7.
In the first hour of sales alone, over 3,500 tickets were purchased as supporters got the 'hottest ticket in town' either online, via the ticketline or in person direct at Sandy Park.
The Chiefs will tackle the star-studded French outfit twice in December, welcoming them first to Sandy Park for a 1.35pm kick-off on the 7th, before they then travel to the Stade Felix Mayol a week later with a 2.35pm kick-off.
As yet the Chiefs have yet to receive their allocation of tickets for the game in France from Toulon, but details of selling arrangements should be available shortly and will be publicised on the official club website, social media sites, match-day programme and local media.
"We always knew demand for this fixture would be huge," said Exeter Chief Executive Tony Rowe OBE. "Not only are we welcoming the defending champions of the Heineken Cup to Devon, but Toulon will arrive here with effectively a 'Who's Who' of international names in their squad.
"Just looking at how quick the tickets were sold, I've no doubt we could have sold this game out two or three times over. Not since our Championship Play-Off final with Bristol in 2010 have we seen such demand for tickets for just one game."
Those supporters who have missed out on tickets should note that if there are any returns to the club, these will go on sale on December 2 from 12 noon.
