NAME: Simon Norris

POSITION: Performance Analyst

BIRTHPLACE: Bridgend, Wales

DATE OF BIRTH: 11/9/1976

JOINED CHIEFS: 2010

ABOUT SIMON:  In 2009, whilst Exeter were starting their journey into the Premiership, having just won the RFU Championship following victory over local rivals Bristol, Simon was completing his first season with the Welsh region Scarlets and gaining his Masters in Performance Analysis from UWIC.

From 2006 to 2010, Simon - more commonly known as 'Chuck' around Sandy Park - was the Head Analyst of the Welsh Under-16s team working alongside the likes of George North, who has since gone on to feature heavily for Wales and the British Lions.

During his four-year tenure with the WRU, Simon won two Grand Slams. Also during that period he gained experience in Performance Analysis with the Cardiff Blues Academy.

In 2010, Simon moved to the Exeter Chiefs, where he has been part of the club's coaching structure, overseeing all of the club's performance analysis. During that time, the Chiefs won the LV= Cup in 2014 and also reached two further Anglo-Welsh finals, narrowly losing out to Saracens and Leicester Tigers.

Although the Chiefs missed out on Aviva Premiership glory in 2016, losing out to Saracens at Twickenham, they gained their revenge a year later defeating the Londoners in the 2017 semi-final, before then going on to lift their first English title when beating Wasps after extra-time.

As well as his work with the Chiefs, Simon was involved in producing analytical data during the 2015 Rugby World Cup, including games here at Sandy Park.
