Cornishman Nowell is a product of the club’s excellent Academy system having moved up to Sandy Park from Truro College.
A full-back by trade, Nowell was promoted into the Chiefs first team ranks midway through the 2012/13 season to play on the wing and he has now looked back since.
A brilliant first season in the Aviva Premiership not only saw Nowell nominated for the RPA Young Player of the Year award, but he was also crowned the LV= Cup Breakthrough Player of the Year after some notable displays against London Welsh, Bath, Ospreys and Northampton Saints.
His classy attacking skills make him a key weapon in the Chiefs arsenal, whilst his growing maturity has been rewarded with a call-up into the England Saxons EPS squad for the new campaign.
Having helped England’s Under-20s squad to lift the Six Nations earlier in the year, he was then one of five Exeter players who helped the Under-20s to lift the Junior World Championship in France, scoring a try in the final win over Wales.
Such has been Nowell’s rise through the ranks in recent times, he made his full England debut in the opening Six Nations clash of 2014 when he featured on the wing against France in Paris.
