Now into his second spell with the Chiefs, the Plymouth-born back capped a hugely impressive 2012/13 season by being named not only as the club’s Player of the Year, but also as the first-choice full-back in the Aviva Premiership’s Team of the Year.
Having started his playing career with the Chiefs as a teenager, Arscott’s fledgling senior career really took off when he was persuaded by then chairman of rugby, Graham Dawe, to move to near neighbours Plymouth Albion in 2003.
Arscott spent three years at the Brickfields, even playing alongside younger brother Tom, before he was lured into the Premiership by Bristol.
At the Memorial Stadium, Arscott would establish himself as a proven force in the No.15 jersey. Not only did he feature regularly in the top flight, but also in Europe where he featured in both the Heineken and Challenge Cup competitions.
However, when Bristol were defeated in the inaugural Championship final in 2010 by the Chiefs, Exeter moved swiftly to bring their former player back to Sandy Park where he has since flourished under head coach Rob Baxter.
