Full-back Chryander Botha joined the Exeter Chiefs at the start of the 2014/15 season, signing from South African Super Rugby franchise the Lions.
A talented footballer, the Namibian international enjoyed an encouraging start to life with his new club, scoring a try on his Aviva Premiership debut away to London Welsh at the Kassam Stadium.
His early season form for the Devon club had many pundits licking their lips, but a horrific broken leg sustained on international duty during the Autumn of 2014 would curtail his first season at Sandy Park.
Although Botha would return to fitness before the end of the season, his game time proved somewhat limited as the Chiefs finished fifth in the standings. He used the time, however, to get himself in tip top condition to feature for Namibia during the 2015 Rugby World Cup, which included playing twice at Sandy Park during the tournament.
Botha made his international debut in August 2008 against Zimbabwe and marked the occasion with an eight point haul from his boot. He scored his first try a year later in the August 2009 Test against the Ivory Coast and finished the match with an impressive 29 points to his name.
