Exeter Chiefs and England star Jack Nowell scored twice as the British & Irish Lions warmed up for Saturday's first test against the All Blacks with a convincing 34-6 win over the Chiefs in Hamilton.

Having suffered defeats in his two previous appearances for the Lions, Cornishman Nowell reminded head coach Warren Gatland of his undoubted talent with a star-studded performance.

The Exeter winger snuck over for a try in each half and also played his part in helping set up another score for Irishman Jared Payne.

A second half penalty try, plus 14 points from the boot of fly-half Dan Biggar helped complete victory for the tourists.

In reply, the Chiefs responded with two penalties from World Cup winning fly-half Stephen Donald.

Although named on the bench, Exeter Chiefs prop Tomas Francis - one of six call-ups to the squad this week - was an unused replacement.
